In this episode we read about how the Levites received towns and pasture lands from the other 11 tribes. We also read about how the 2 1/2 tribes finally get to go home after fighting with their brothers for 7 years. One thing we should take note of is Joshua’s exhortation to the 2 1/2 tribes as he sends them home. In Joshua Chapter 22:5-6, after the major conquest of the promised land is over, they are told to obey the Lord; love Him; walk in His ways; hold firmly to Him; and serve Him with their whole heart. This is for us as well.
