Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion for the time to favour her yea the set time is come

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us establish the work of our hands for us mdash yes establish the work of our hands And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches Loving favor rather than silver and gold

Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers and his mother called his name Jabez saying ldquo Because I bore him in pain rdquo And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying ldquo Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory that Your hand would be with me and that You would keep me from evil that I may not cause pain rdquo So God granted him what he requested

And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah And when He had opened the book He found the place where it was written ldquo The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind To set at liberty those who are oppressed To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord rdquo Then He closed the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him And He began to say to them ldquo Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing rdquo
