When I sat down to make a few notes to craft an introduction to Commissioner Tindell I quickly started filling up pages of my yellow pad.

I quickly realized that there is one fundamental characteristic that stands out in his life and his career and that is his commitment to the public safety of this state.

Briefly he has served as a prosecutor, several years in the MS State Senate, appointed by Governor Bryant to the Appellate Court, and finally appointed by Governor Reeves as Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety where he continues to serve today.

Some would call that a trifecta – having served in all three branches of state government.
