Hi,
To whoever is listening,
Stay safe,
Cause none of us is.
We or at least I have talked about freedom on these journals several times.
It's like a recurring theme here.
We all are bound by different things in our lives.
But before we discuss them,
I want to project my opinion about why I strive for freedom?
In most cases the things that bound us comfort us in someway,
May it be your bed or Instagram or alcohol,
But the things that comfort us control us.
A decision for something starts becoming the only option.
When you get too comfortable to the routine,
The brain starts to get into autopilot,
Now you are addicted to the dopamine,
To the comfort of the routine,
But you might think what's the problem if I'm comfortable. The problem is you won't always be comfortable, you'll have to face a tougher situation but when you are addicted to comfort the task will seem humongous,
I myself experience these feelings on a regular,
I'm learning to grow out of them,
Rest when I need to and resting cause I've got nothing better to do are very different things.
I'm can observe myself addicted to procrastination, giving up too early, inconsistency, inability to say no and the list will go on and on.
Currently I'm reading a book named Ikigai by hector garcia and francesc miralles.
There's a concept that they present in the book that advises us to try at least one new thing everyday,
Something am that's out of your routine,
In that way, you break free from the autopilot mode of your brain that has been addicted to the routine.
Another technique is mindful thinking,
To put it in simple words is to becoming aware of you and your surroundings,
Observing yourself, understanding why you make the choices you make, knowing more about yourself,
Understanding yourself,
Making a note of your self growth physically and mentally on a daily.
These stuff seem to stimulate your brain,
Freezes it's rusting,
There's more I need to share but next time,
Amigos.
