Overthinking is one of the most common struggles people face, and Scripture speaks directly to it. At its core, overthinking is focusing on 'what if' instead of 'what is,' keeping us stuck in mental loops that never move us forward. First Peter 5:6-10 offers a clear framework: humble yourself before God, cast your cares on Jesus, stay alert to the enemy's schemes, actively resist anxious spirals, and rest in God's promised strength. There is a subtle pride in overthinking that assumes we are capable of figuring everything out on our own. Humility puts God back on the throne and puts us in proper alignment with Him, and that alignment is where peace begins. We can trust Jesus with our worries because He has already proven He can be trusted with something far greater, our salvation.
