As Jesus birth was approaching God had placed on the hearts of a few to diligently seek his face. For years it would seem there would be no reward. In fact Anna and Simeon spent the majority of their lives in the temple awaiting for God’s son to show up. At 84 Anna probably should have given up. But she knew deep down that God had planted something in her spirit and she as well as Simeon were rewarded for their faithfulness. Maybe you are in the midst of a time of waiting. The wise men had everything society says we need: money, education, respect, power. Still, they weren’t satisfied. So they packed their bags and followed a star on the search for something more. Like the wise men, all of us are born with a longing that can only be fulfilled in Jesus.
