This week on Finding Your Bliss, we have a show devoted to happiness and wellbeing. Life Coach and Bliss Expert Judy Librach is joined by Jovanka Ciares, who has just written a fabulous new book called “Reclaiming Wellness: Ancient Wisdom for your Healthy, Happy, and Beautiful Life”, which offers many easy, fun, and helpful ways for you to become your most radiant self. It also highlights the multicultural roots of a wide variety of popular health trends and speaks to everyone with an emphasis on people of colour, who Jovanka says have struggled disproportionately with preventable diseases.

Jovanka Ciares is not only the author of Reclaiming Wellness, but she’s written many other books. A certified wellness expert, integrative herbalist, nutrition educator, and coach, she offers lectures and workshops in both Spanish and English. She studied nutrition with bestselling author T. Colin Campbell, PhD, at his Center for Nutrition Studies (in partnership with Cornell University) and herbalism/plant medicine with Tieraona Low Dog, MD. A native of Puerto Rico, she now lives in Los Angeles.

Also on the program we will be featuring the music of Toronto artist RAQUEL. She has always been able to sing better than she could speak and has always found it easier to express herself and connect with others through her writing. Growing up in Scarborough, RAQUEL. was drawn to R&B and Hip Hop as some of the most emotional and expressive music she had ever heard.

Inspired by the sounds of her parents’ musical heroes that played the soundtrack to her home life, RAQUEL.’s genre-bending take on Pop is distinctly her own, while her lyrical commentary on the human condition and emotion is bittersweet in its relatability.

RAQUEL. is currently pursuing her music degree at Humber College while writing, recording and performing her own body of work, to be released within the coming year.
