As a follower of Jesus, being engaged in works of ministry can wonderful, but difficult at the same time. Therefore, Paul encourages Timothy to be strengthened in the grace of Christ. He encourages Timothy to be like a soldier with a whole hearted devotion for the priorities of Jesus; an athlete who is disciplined in following God’s word; a hard-working farmer toiling unto a spiritual harvest. All for the sake of the gospel! Listen and be encouraged in your faith!

Much of religion, faith and places of worship have become consumer driven. Often people will look for a church that matches the world’s beliefs, not biblical beliefs. Yet, to walk in the light of Christ Jesus means being able to discern spiritual truth from error. It also means knowing the deep love that God has for us in Christ Jesus.

Rather than be taken in by the world, we need to get back to the foundation of our faith so we can go forward into the future.
