On Easter Sunday we all confess with a loud voice, “He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!”
But then comes Monday and Tuesday and the rest of the week along with, perhaps, a lot of egg salad sandwiches. Easter starts to fade a bit. The festive cheerfulness has fallen a bit. And although we don’t voice it much, there is in the background a somewhat foggy question for many people, “Now what?” The resurrection has happened, we have celebrated it. But, now what?
It’s a question that we grapple with if we are at all serious about being a Christian. If you’re not serious about being Christian as many aren’t, then it’s of no matter. Easter is just a rinse and repeat process once a year. But if Jesus really did die and rise again, “Now what?” is an important question.
