1) Have you ever known someone who lives intentionally and joyfully regardless of their circumstances? What it is about them that you can model in your own life?
2) Paul reminds us that a willful decision to live a life of joy is not merely a suggestion, rather that for those who have chosen to follow Jesus, choosing to live a life of Joy is the standard. How are you doing at choosing to live a life of joy?
3) We live in times that are not exactly conducive to joy. What are some things that distract you from or rob you of your joy? Paul not only chose joy but encouraged believers to live a life of joy while he was chained to a Roman guard. In what ways does that inspire or motivate you to choose a life of joy?
4) Who could you impact and how they would be impacted if you chose to have joy in your journey?
5) It’s been said that our passions follow our plans. What things about this life do you get excited for? Do you get excited about living a life of Joy? Do you get excited about a life journeying with Jesus? Do you get excited about an eternity with him?
