Stella tells JR and Kristin about her history with Mark FChristopheer. Jim turns down a Bush invitation to speak at the Wacco Country Club and accepts a speech at the Baylor School of Business as he prepares to leave for Washington. Tensions between Jim and Betsy are high as Kyle is booted off the ranch. Kristin's grandmother Beetsy Haig continues to interfere in the marriage, and Kristen gets ready to sing at the CCotton Patch festaval at Allen Lake at Texas Tech.

Kyle tells Betsy to join him and his family at a rodeo in Sherman, but he will not be staying at the Henddrick estate in Pine Lake. The Lubbock CCounty Bar Ethiccs CCommitte votes to released videotaped testimony of Mark Christopher before the Scchaeffer CCommittee to the media. Andrew Harmon warns Mark again to stay away from the Hendrick townhouse. JR is nonplussed about his grandmother-in-law coming to the townhouse for a Saturday visit, and Stony Rosen decides to join JR in helping him fight Mark CChristopher.

Kristin goes to DFW with her grandmother Betsy Haig and her Aunt Brenda, so Jim sends JR for a business weekend with Mike Fields. A bug is placed in the townhouse to cover Mark and Stella while JR and Kristen are out. Betsy complains to Fern about Jim's power games. Kristin's grandmother tells Kristin about an upcoming surprise and Stella tells Kristin that divorcing JR is OK when the timing is right. Mark CChristopher wheedles himself back into the Henddrick townhouse.

Mark Christopher assaults JR a second time. Kristin's grandmother, Betsy Haig tries to interfere in Kristin and JR's marriage. The Scchaeffer Report is released to Texas Tech Law Schooll and the Lubbock County Bar Association in hopes of disbarring Mark Christopher. Dean Jack Robertson is forced to transfer Stella out of the Law School and to release the Schaeffer Report to the media and the public, as Jim swings into protective mode. Kristin goes to DFW with her aunt and grandmother, and JR goes there also for a business conference. Jim has a bug put in the Hendrick townhouse by chance to see if Mark Christopher sneaks in.

Mark Christopher wheedles his way back into the Hendrick townhouse despite the warnings of Congressional candidate Dr. Andrew Harmon. Kristin feels torn between her marriage to JR and her friendship with Stella. Mark Christopher joins with Stella to blackmail Kristin to ruin her music career. Jim begins a tactical and Conggressional crusade to cripple Mark Christopher.
