June 10, 2023 The Final Spraying of My Maize Farm Was Done Successfully This Morning

It's another blissful day to report the updates of my farm. As I've been regularly reporting the state of my farm, it's another opportunity to let you know what I've been doing. It's five (5) ahead for my maize farm to reach exactly two months. They were cultivated in 15th April 2023, as today being 10th June 2023. I'm always excited 😊 when I get to the farm, the maizes are flourishing well, it's on the tasseling stage,and some too are developing into cobs with their hairs emerging.The natural rains continue to put smile 😊 into our face. The maizes look very deep green.
I in view during the spraying of my farm
I continued to say that, there are three basic things or treatment that encourages good growths of maizes; if done for them, you are good to go as farmer of maizes. These are good quality grains from foundation stock, good planting distance and number of grains per hole, good weeding fertilization and good supply of irrigation. These are the basic cultural practices that I had done in the farm till day one. The only problem that we face here in the tropics as I reported early is lack of good irrigation system. So,most farmers here depends on the natural rain, should it fails we are doomed.
I had already done the first spraying with selective herbicides/weedicides, the use of Kariherb and Nicoplus; the perfect combination of selective herbicide/weedicides for spraying maize farm. Being selective means that it would select only maize and kill any other weeds it come into contact with. These two chemicals wouldn't even favour grasses of which maizes are with the same family. These two chemicals work as magic. When you spray, it takes 1 month time or more before the weeds emerge again. That's why I've selected them as the best selective weedicides for my maizes farm, despite that we have many weedicides in sale at agrochemicals. I used the same weedicides during the first stage when the maize had reach 3 weeks. By then I had already sprayed non selective weedicides when the maize hadn't sown into the soil.

One of the good things I like about these two weedicides is that they have added some fraction of Nitrogen fertilizer conc into the weedicides which initiate good growth. So, as it kills the weeds, it again helps the maizes to grow in healthy.
Spraying is normally done in the early dawn when the dews are still on the leaves. It's the raining season so early spraying is encouraged so that in case there is rain in the afternoon or evening, you had by then complete your spraying and left the farm. So, I left the house for the maize farm early this morning. Source of water is river which is closed to the farm in a certain valley. I descended down and fetch two gallons brought to the farm. I made sure to wash the Knapsack sprayer machine before measuring my water into the tank. I opened the Kariherb and Nicoplus. On each of the lid is a about 30ml cups on each of them that are used to measure the chemical into the tank. But the water must be filled half way of the tank before pouring the chemical into the the tank. I did that exactly before measuring each of the Kariherb and Nicoplus into the tanks.

The Kariherb look colourless with oily in nature. But the Nicoplus is is milky with that with that thick whitish colour. I measure to the brim of the 30ml cup and poured into the tanks as well. I then topped up the water to the brim, put on the lid tight.

I closed the lid very tight and clinged it at my back with the help of the two shoulders trap brackets. These are two strong belts that support the machine to hand at your back. The only trick in using the machine is very simple. The pump sleeve is pressed up and down to initiate fluid pressure that draw the mixture from the tank through hole of lance. There is a lever on the trigger valve that has to press to release the mixture of chemical through the nozzle of the machine. I set off through the maize farm to begin the spraying. The weeds haven't overgrown so set the machine to the lower level so that the pumps of the water comes in tiny drops of molecules.

The nozzle was lowered just on the shoot of the weeds under the maize. Since the weeds haven't overgrown, I had to speed up by then there was the need to see to it that pressure is increased by the pump lever. I was able to complete the farm by spraying six (6) tanks of the whole farm closed to an acre. This was the main work I did in the farm today.Thanks for your attention!

June 08, 2023 School, The great Institution To Train Cultural Troops To Grace Occasions

Greetings Everyone.
One thing that keeps our identity is the strong cultural relationship we hold as a Country. When you come to our Ghanaian societies, we keep hold our culture and that differentiate us from other Countries, that gives us our identity and the way we do our things different from others.
It's a great and precious thing for us so we don't want it to wipe off from our system. As things move forward, things keep changing with time, so the need to train and teach the young generation about our Culture so that it doesn't fade out from the system. There are two areas that we teach and train the generation about our culture; and these are our "Homes and Schools." In the homes, children learn a lot through their parents who they stay with and emulate certain good things, the dos and don'ts. It's the place of child upbringing and the firsts place the child learn how to speak.
At school levels, it has been fused in the curriculum from the basic to higher institutions. It's there as core subject from the basic to second cycle, but at higher institutions students can learn as a full 4 years course and graduated for certificate. The reason being this, due to migration and most people travelling to learn culture at different places all over the world, with time they throw our culture away and adopt new culture into our Country. So the need to have graduates in Culture to teach and train the young people if our culture is fading out.
In the occasion like durbar, festivals, funeral, naming ceremony, marriage ceremony and graduations you would see our culture display. At least drumming and dancing in our local way would be portrayed to grace the occasion. In our Graduation Ceremony which just took place at University of Cape Coast like this, there was a few moment of cultural display to grace the occasion. Our drumming and dancing were used to welcome the dignities like the Chiefs, Presidents, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor during the occasion. It was such a nice celebration 🥳🎉.

Speaking in the 55th Graduation Ceremony, the Pro Vice Chancellor commended the Graduants for their hardworking, diligence and credibility of all time. Being ranked the best University in Ghana, 1st in West Africa and 4th in Africa is the eminence of the hard work of the University.
In the summary of his speech, there are more good things in the pipe line as many measures have put in place to raise the standard of education. Among these are the expansion of various University branches, provision of quality training and education for all students and impacting good knowledge reflecting the current World.

The moment of joy, another Milestone has been reached having completed The University of Cape for my 2 years of hard work. I therefore needed to be crowned 👑 with the University Degree ( Bachelor of Education in Educational Psychology). This is the 55Th Congregation of 6Th & 7Th Session Graduation Ceremony.
The program commenced at exactly 9 am group into 1st, 2nd and 3rd sessions due to the great number of Graduants across the length & breath of the Country. Actually they could have divided the program into Regional basis for easy handling of that large number of people as it was done during the covid 19 pandemic era, but they encountered certain challenges which brought disorganization of the entire program. This is the main reason why they've centered everything at the main campus, Cape Coast.
I was in the 2nd session but I had to be there on Thursday afternoon for clearance and claiming of my survenirs ( Graduation grown, files, brochures and medal) for the occasion. The university Anthem had to be rehearsed for the day. Having gone through the processes successfully I was waiting for the deed day.
The 2nd June 2023 11 am the 2nd session began. The University Anthem was sung while we all keep standing: We are the "Veritas, Nobis and Lumen".

In this video, I shared how Hive has impacted my life. Even though the impact are more than what I shared here. But I tried to talk about 5 of them. These are:
Hive has helped me to build connections with a lot of people around the Globe.Through the content I shared I have made friends with many people from different countries, different part of the World. Had it not been Hive, there is no way I can be connected with those people. It made me feel that Hive is my "second home" apart from living with my family here in Ghana.
Knowledge is very powerful that everyone need to grow as far as business is concerned. Through Hive I have added a lot of knowledge, skills of writing and improvement of my grammar and other areas of communication.
I have had encountered with Hive Health Outreach program which took place at Agona Bedomase. Through the activities, I got screened which was a good impact that through Hive I had experienced.
Hive more than a household Ecosystem with different functionalities like exchanges from Hive to other crypto Blockchain. Aside everything I enjoy trading cryptocurrency through Hive to other exchange platform like Binance.
Lastly, I am very excited 😊 when I see my Hive Power growing daily. What this means is that if I work consistently I am investing for my future. Thanks for your attention.

May 08, 2023 Working beyond our limits in our maize farm after closing from school

There was nothing to prevent us from executing our part time maize farm this evening. Upon seeing how good states our maize farm is, it really motivates us more to use up all our energy in weeding the farm. I've always said that there are more opportunities to discover at farming if we pay close attention to it. Either working as a full time farmer or part time farmer will really work if we are determined and focused. In modern agriculture, it's easy to farm and reap abundance of yield that in the olden days where there were few technologies to improve farming. You really need a small start up capital to do it and reap more.
Counting from the day that we sown our maize grains, today happens to be 22nd day. This is our 3rd weeding; we had gotten one full time on last Saturday to clear the weeks in our maize farm. Asare and I were able to cover a vast area of the farm. We decided to continue today after school. Since we want to whole farm to be weeded by the close of the week so that we can relax for a while. For the good state of the farm having all the maize growing in healthy conditions, we don't want them to spoil. That's why we want to clear at this early stage.

Initially we decided to use herbicides but we later saw that there are plenty of cocoyam which have emerged in the farm. The cocoyam too are source of root tuber and the leaves being great sources of vitamin, iron and energy due to high fibre content. Using herbicides would turn to kill all the cocoyam in the farm. So we took a decision to at least weed the vantage places where these cocoyam have converged, even if not all the whole farm.
We arrived the farm when it was 3:15 pm. We changed our dressing code into farming attire. We began the weeding. As you can see, we were able to cover a large area beyond my imagination. I can estimate that about half of the farm have been weeded. We closed from the maize farm when it was 5:56 pm. We had to rush to our various homes and support our family.

May 06, 2023 Taking Some Key Notes Of Agona Bedomase Free Hive Health Screening Exercise

I was able to record few short videos about Agona Bedomase health outreach exercises organized at the 1st May Holiday. This helped me to take some few key notes from the interviews conducted for the various community members who who were screened at the program.
I was really touched by the views shared by one community member expressing how this health screening exercise has helped him. He expressed in our local dialogue that his main challenge was his eyes. As he passed through the health screening he has gotten some advise and guidelines. He was given free spectacles and drugs as well to be used for the cure of his eyes.
The community member expressed that he entreat all members to support Hive for all the community empowering projects are embarking on so that freedom would be part of them. He finally thanked all leaders who through them they have received this benefits.

April 27, 2023 Begining The First Weeding Of My Maize Farm

I spent 2 Hours after school to weed my maize farm. I've taken my farm as a part time work which I can visit at my own convenient time or at any point in time when I've free time.
The farm is in proximity to our school, about 7mins walk. Before going to school, I had planned to visit the farm right from school.
I took my catlass and farm trousers and shirt. Immediately we closed, I rushed to the farm to begin the weeding. One would ask; why I've chosen to weed manually without applying herbicides. Yes, I've discovered that the farm have a lot of cocoyam sprouted all the farm. In an attempt to apply the herbicides would kill all the cocoyam which is a source of food and also vegetables from their leaves. That's why I've chosen to weed the portion that have lots of cocoyam emerged.
I arrive in the farm around 3:11pm, I changed my dress into farming mood 😊 and began weeding. The weeds are very light since we applied the Non-selective herbicides just about 1 month and a week. I didn't find the weeding to be very tedious. At some point I used my hands to pull out the weeds especially those which were closer to the base of the maize plants. By 2hours time, I'd covered weeding about 12m square of the farm. I was very excited 😆 when I looked back as what I'd been able to cover.
At least my coming next time would help me to cover large portion. I closed when it was 5:50pm. It dimness of the weather was encroaching so I hurriedly came to pick taxi at the road side. See me in my next activity in the farm. Thanks for your attention!

Hello everyone!, in this video I shared how newbies can be successful in Hive following some basic Guidelines.
To my experience spending few months in Hive, most Newbies for the few weeks or months signing up, we expect greater upvote, support and attention from old members. We turn lose hope if we don't meet all these things.
Newbies should understand that Hive as decentralized Blockchain technology which accept our content creation, we need to build ourselves, established our portfolio for long time before gaining attention.
In this video, I summarized 3 basic things Newbies should do to be successful in Hive.
1. Defining the field or area you are talented with.
It's always good for Newbies to give more attention to the field you are good at. Even though, one can post any content without abusing the rules like spamming or plagiarize. One is able to express himself better in the field that he has more knowledge than being all round.
2. Consistency & Engagement
It's very imperative for Newbies to be active and engage Hive Community. That would let others to give more attention to your content. The most activities Newbies should commit in doing : commenting, upvoting and giving feedback.
3. Writing good content post.
As Newbies, one thing most people would admire, follow us and give us much support is our good content. How we present our content, grammar, the use of pictures, editing and the use of markdowns are all ingredients that can enrich our post.
In conclusion, to grow our wallet also demands a little effort to grow our account. So Newbies are expected to power up their account with the rewards from the support they get from sharing their post.
