Alone finally, late at night, Lyle calls "Linder," a police-sketch expert. Lyle offers him cash to recreate "Jewel" from Lyle's memory: a young girl dressed in adult Victorian garb. Lyle has a fitful dream, seeing Jewel again, this time holding a newborn. Next morning, Fraser calls to berate Lyle and remind him his court date is this morning! Courthouse is jammed. Judge Sloane erupts when Lyle decides to withdraw his stay of demolition. Outside, Flo and Silk block Lyle's path–he's dumbstruck seeing Silk.
