Ian Simkins, pastor of Poplar Creek Church in Bartlett IL, joins the Judson Community to lead Spiritual Enrichment Week 2015. To briefly explain what Ian means when he says "Beauty in the Common" here is a selection from the BITC blog:

In the rush of daily life we look at much but see very little.

It's not hard to be moved by a stunning mountain range or a grand waterfall – but Beauty in the Common is about something a little different. Our hope is to challenge and inspire others to be captivated in the everyday, mundane, and unexpected spaces of our lives.

For us, this goes way beyond merely “stopping to smell the roses” to something a whole lot deeper. The word “common” not only means “ordinary”, but also “mutual, united, and conjunct.” We want to stir and provoke one another to begin seeing with new lenses the simple shared beauties all around us.
