We are here to help! We envision a community where everyone has access to good quality, nutritious food, understands the consequences of hunger and poor nutrition and is committed to creating a stronger, healthier communities without hunger. Food Not Bombs Canton is working to eliminate hunger and improve the health and well-being of our community through access to healthy and nutritious vegetarian and vegan foods, community education and advocacy. We believe in engaging the community and involving those we serve in finding solutions to eliminate hunger and food insecurity. We believe the root causes of hunger must be addressed to realize our long-term goal of eliminating hunger. We believe collaboration and partnerships - internally and externally - are essential to fulfilling our mission. This is why we rely on donations from the general public. We couldn’t do this without you! We recognize the dignity of all people and believe food is an essential right. Food is a RIGHT not a Privilege. We believe hunger can be eliminated. The mission of Food Not Bombs is to recover and share free vegan or vegetarian food with the public without restriction to protest war, poverty and the destruction of the environment. Each of our over 1,000 groups is independent making decisions using the consensus process. Food Not Bombs is also dedicated to taking nonviolent direct action to change society so no one is forced to stand in line to eat at a soup kitchen expressing a commitment to the fact that food is a right and not a privilege.
