Pushing the boundaries of the unknown is a concept many of us are attracted to. 

In the case of cave diving, the end might never be reached which means that you have the opportunity go where nobody has gone before. With cave systems all over the world being discovered, explorers keep learning new things. For example, some of the wildlife found in dark caves may have never evolved to have colored skin, as camouflage in the darkness is not very useful to their survival. 

Some of these species have also never evolved to analyse electromagnetic radiation, therefore they are blind.

Concepts like these make us discover new things about earth and the precious life it holds.

Really excited to have finally done an actual podcast instead of a log. But even more exciting is my guest, he's a helicopter pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, an ultra-marathon runner, an explorer and an overall very wise person!

Since we grew up together, we shared many adventures and learned a lot by each other's mistakes.

This episode is a little longer than we expected, but It's filled with interesting conversations if you push through, I promise!

Exploration has always been an important value for human beings and it seems like it's just a part of our DNA. In modern times, we tend to forget just how important exploration is and how it forms our future. With space exploration being the "leading" form of exploration, we are starting to see further out in the universe and how it all started. As we solve massive problems, new ones form everyday and this constant pursuit for knowledge is what brought humanity to be this technologically advanced!

Keep on learning, there are still many questions to be answered!

The past 2 weeks has been awesome since we had the Congrès Mondial Acadien (CMA) in New-Brunswick. This is a celebration done every 5 years and people from all over the world come to experience l'Acadie and to reunite with their roots. I recorded this log a few months ago after spending a few days in Louisiana and my time there was incredible. I learned so much and feel lucky to have made so many friends who took me in and introduced me to their culture.

During my summers of being a University student, I worked as a Wildland Firefighter. 

In this episode I talked about some of the experiences I had, dangers I've encountered, stories I've herd and things I've seen. 

Overall, I really enjoyed my experiences and I hope this might ignite a spark in someone's mind to give it a shot (Pun intended).

Happiness is something we all seem to thrive for, yet most people who reach their ultimate version of happiness tell us to look elsewhere...

In my case, I figured I was trying to attain happiness through adventure sports and shortly realized I always needed more! 

With depression becoming a more common topic within our modern society, I think we need to simply talk about it more, because there's so many things we take for granted in our lives. 

I wasn't intending on sharing this one as it's a pretty personal subject, but thanks to some positive feedback, I decided to share it hoping someone might be able to learn from my experiences instead of needing to go through it themselves.

Sometimes a deep examination of the cosmos can lead us to great discoveries about ourselves and our world. I've had a passion for astronomy for as long as I can remember and recording this was pure pleasure for me. 

Hopefully I can teach you something you might not have realized about things like Black holes, General and Special Relativity, Quantum Mechanics and Nuclear Fusion in stars.

You will absolutely need to be a bit open minded for this one, but if you like to get your mind blown, there might be a few things in here for you.

I went to a Buddhist Retreat Center for a month and the things I've learned changed my life. Some of the things Buddhist masters, monks and our Rinpoche claim, are fascinating! I mention a couple of times that I've always had a background in Science and never in spirituality, so it was hard sometimes to get by my internal bullshit alarm. 

However, modern Psychology, Philosophy and Science is starting to get familiarized with subjects like Consciousness. With the ongoing rise in Artificial Intelligence, we need to start studying more of these concepts because there is a lot of potential in Buddhism!

When you start exploring the deep blue, you begin to view things differently, becoming a diver changes the way your brain processes information... For me personally, one of my biggest fears has always been: Open Water

Once you can get into the meditative state required for diving, you begin to relax, slow your breathing, and you begin to LOOK AROUND. 

If you can remain calm under water, you begin to view everyday stress as it is, unnecessary and avoidable!

I got the chance to visit a few National Parks that help preserve some ancient sites, one of them being "Mesa Verde" was incredible. Our species has always thrived on technological advancements and there is no better way to predict our future, than to examine our learning patterns/behaviors throughout history.
