Zach joins Julian for a sweeping breakdown of how economic and political power actually got built in this country, and why he thinks it’s breaking down now. It starts with the Telecommunications Bill, debated in 1995, and the claim that senators were directly paid to pass it — plus a detour into why Julian still gets visibly fired up talking about Howard Lutnick, years later. From there they go deep into monetary history most people never learned: JP Morgan’s overlooked role personally propping up the US financial system in 1895 and 1907, the Bretton Woods Agreement, and the failed attempt to globalize the dollar.

The historical thread continues into the gold standard’s collapse — including the claim that the US misrepresented how much gold it actually held, and the French gold standoff of 1965 that helped set the stage for Nixon ending gold convertibility in 1971. Zach connects that directly to how Blackstone gave rise to BlackRock, and why removing the gold standard fundamentally changed what backs government trust and spending.

Then the conversation turns to 2008: Zach’s argument that capitalism itself fundamentally changed that year, using a Jenga metaphor for a financial system that’s no longer allowed to fail, and a backyard-baseball comparison for how rigged the rules have become. From there, Julian and Zach get into something that worries Julian more than almost anything else discussed: collective apathy, the speed at which real political upheaval could happen, and whether the news cycle itself is designed to keep people checked out. It closes on something more personal: why Zach understands why people want to leave the country entirely, what he genuinely doesn’t know what to tell Gen Z, and why he’s chosen a simpler, more self-sustaining life on his own homestead instead. He lays out exactly what he’d actually do to fix things at the ground level — starting with law reform, term limits, age limits, and ending insider trading in Congress — and closes with his real checklist: antitrust laws to dismantle the oligarchy, and single-issue bills on all legislation, because as he puts it, this was never actually about red versus blue.

This is a firsthand account of life inside Scientology, from childhood to eventually walking away and going straight to the FBI. We start with the Cadet Org, the organization’s program for children — described here as something close to “Lord of the Flies,” with kids largely left to govern and police themselves. From there we get into Scientology’s documented internal policy of “attack, attack, attack” against critics and defectors, and how the organization is built to recruit people specifically when they’re at their lowest point emotionally.

The story moves through Delphi Academy, the Scientology-affiliated school system, and what it was like effectively living alone at 14. Eventually that path leads into Sea Org, Scientology’s religious order known for its intense labor demands — including, in this case, personally auditing Tom Cruise. We close on the escape itself: what finally pushed her to leave, and the decision to go to federal investigators with what she knew.

This is one of the widest-ranging conversations in the series. Nolan Saumure (Seal On Tour) starts with gratitude and the specific video that made everything click for him as a creator, then moves through a second trip to India, and how a side hustle slowly became his main hustle. He talks about what he sees as the good side of Pakistan, then goes deep on Iraq — traveling there with fellow creator SmallBrainedAmerican, describing Iraqis as some of the sweetest and most generous people he’s met, and making the case that Baghdad is far more modern and progressive than most people assume, even with visible infrastructure and some remnants of war still present. A sweeping conversation on power, money, and the systems running the world — starting with what Simon Dixon calls "the mask off moment," where things once hidden are now openly admitted: algorithmic social control, social credit scoring, and the deliberate radicalization of people into the most extreme version of their own ideology. He traces his own path from losing everything in the dot-com bust to starting as a "tea boy" at TD Waterhouse, becoming a stockbroker and market maker, and eventually describing his own job in finance as manipulating share prices while always sitting on the other side of his clients' trades.

From there, Dixon goes deep into how the global financial system actually works: how BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard effectively manage the world's money, how banks create new money every time someone takes out a loan, why proximity to "the money printer" is the single biggest financial advantage that exists, and his claim that a "forever war" being more profitable than peace is exactly why wars continue — echoing the old idea that war is a racket. He describes the "compromise game," being tested with a gradual ladder of things people can be compromised with, and a story he calls "the grip of death" involving an author who disappeared. He connects all of this to the Federal Reserve's creation alongside the income tax in 1913, World War One, the Great Depression, World War Two, the 1933 gold confiscation, and the simple fact that America's mainland was never bombed — which he argues fundamentally shaped the 20th century.
