JULIE EVO│The Intrepid Archaeologist

Listen Later

For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by world traveler and forensic archaeologist, Julie Evo.

Julie is an archaeologist that I respect and admire. And I've been fortunate to have worked alongside her on a couple of field projects in the past. Throughout her career, Julie has had the opportunity to conduct fieldwork all around the world! Though some of the locations that she's worked at have been quite challenging. Such as in central Illinois, where she had to walk through miles of dense ten-foot-tall fields of corn. Or western Louisiana, where she's had to inch her way through a ton of trees and thorn vines. And if that wasn't enough, Julie also enjoys traveling to extreme locations during her vacations. Her most recent was a trip to Norway to go trekking in the Arctic Circle!

In this episode, Julie tells us about how she became an archaeologist, as well as some of the places that she's traveled to for fieldwork. She also shares some of her stories from her time in Norway and what she's learned from that experience. Furthermore, we also have a fun discussion on archaeology in pop culture and how it might influence the profession!
