In this episode, I speak with Gillian Sutherland - a very accomplished rider who has an incredible knowledge of horsemanship from over 30 years of teaching all the way to the Grand Prix level.
Gillian's success includes being a World Cup finalist and competing in the Pan Am trials. Gillian was consistently short-listed and a carded rider for Equine Canada for many years and had repeatedly represented Canada internationally, also spending time as a certified judge.
Gillian's approach is always about the well being of the horse and encouraging and guiding her students to be independent with the mindset of a trainer.
In this episode we discuss:
--> How Gillian came back from a very difficult injury
--> Why she loves coaching and educating her students
--> How she got to be a Grand Prix rider coming from a middle-class non-horsey family.
