The Perfect Law of Liberty • July 4, 2021 (James 1:17-27) James expounds upon the conclusion Jesus makes in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7. He gives further examples of the life of those who rejoice in the preaching of the gospel but do not apply it to their lives. They have no true identity and seem to be lost in this world. To the contrary, those that hear the gospel and try to live it in their daily lives, see Christ in themselves. They have peace and enjoy “true liberty.”
