David visited a program called GOSO, Getting Out And Staying Out, to discuss what it means to “measure” success and how we can think differently about it. GOSO empowers and assists young men who have been involved with the criminal justice system. The program is reshaping their futures through educational achievement, meaningful employment, and financial independence. The members of GOSO have found success in reforming their lives outside of the criminal justice system. Inspirational leadership is what David sees in today’s guest, Coach Macky Bergman. He is a co-founder at Steady Buckets, a basketball clinic, after-school program and camp in NYC. We talk with Coach Macky about teaching responsibility and leadership, breaking down socio-economic barriers between kids and the Macky Rules. David got first-hand experience watching Coach Macky from the sidelines each Saturday. He is a trailblazer who teaches the kids not only the fundamentals of the sport but the fun as well!
