The final verses of chapter 4 provide a glimpse into the inner workings of the early church. The first-century Christians enjoyed a sense of closeness and unity that caused the world to sit up and take notice. It’s one thing to talk of loving others, it’s quite another to sell your valuable possessions and give the proceeds to those in need. Yet that kind of generosity was common in the early church.
