This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

"Overcoming Cultural Christianity!"

Over time, the meaning of certain words in our cultural and society have been redefined. . .even to the point of having no meaning.

Unfortunately, the term Christian is fast becoming one of those words.

We would define the word Christian as. . .a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ and who now lives in obedience to God’s Word.

However, much of the world defines the word “Christian” as. . .going to church occasionally or simply believing in God.

Even many churches are complicit in this cultural overthrow of true faith by altering the gospel and its demands to make it more appealing to a wider audience.

Andrew McKinney, in his book Cultural Christianity: The Disaster of Abandoning the Gospel, defines cultural Christianity as. . .

A false form of Christianity fabricated by Satan and forwarded by a relative gospel that serves man’s preferences and Satan’s damning purposes rather than the redemptive purposes of God.
