Daniel Robison's Input on Today's Devotion
The name it - claim it attitude is running a muck in today's society. Many "pastors" claiming that if you become a follower of Jesus that you will have cars, money, power and a nice home. If you don't have these thing then you must be out of Christ's will. Googling some of the famous speakers of today's homes it's no wonder they talk this way. It a rationalization of how they live their life. I'm not saying that all popular pastors are like that and you can tell the difference from the way they talk. For example, Billy Graham lived in a modest home as well as some today such as Tony Evans and Alistair Begg.
God has blessed some with success and others who may be even more in his will, struggle their whole lives. Why is that? They're building treasures in Heaven. Let's face it, we get 100 awesome years on this world if we are blessed to live that long. We will spend eternity in Heaven. Why not do everything that we can to build up our treasures there. I'm sure Paul was in God's will when he was in prison but he was still happy. Jesus said that he came that we might have life to the full but what is that fullness that he's talking about. I believe it's what Paul said in Phillipians 4:12-13, " I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
