“Once you hit a NEW LEVEL, continue to do it repeatedly so that it becomes a NEW NORMAL for you.” — Shameca Tankerson (03:00-03:04)
June marks the first time I’ve ever done a six-figure month back to back. So, I’m making a decision that this year, I wanted to make $100,000 months the new normal for me. In this week’s episode, we’re going to talk about how I generated consistent $100K months.
Part One of ‘June 2020 Income Report +Team Building’
You don’t need to make a lot of sales to hit six-figures in a month. Here’s the exciting part: I made $123,294 from 18 sales! With those 18 sales, we added an additional eleven thousand dollars a month in recurring income. Recurring income means that money is going to be coming, and I can count on it for the next six months to twelve months, depending on how long the program is.
What that means is over the next twelve months, I've added another one $132,000 to my revenue just in the month of June. In addition to the recurrent income are recurring revenue we already have coming in on a monthly basis. On top of that, we collected a little over $34,000 in cash. We didn’t spend money on advertising to make this happen. Yet, we made more money this month than we made last month. I know too many people that have seven-figures businesses who are always worried how they’re going to get their next client. So, you want to adjust your structure for how payments come in so that you can live while still creating recurring income.
“I'm focused on delivering impact to those I'm called to serve.” — Shameca Tankerson (21:25-21:59)
My team is the highest amount of money that we spend on our expenses. Now, here's the deal. My recurring revenue covers all my business expenses. If I don't sell another thing, my business is taken care of. I don't have to go make money next month to pay my bills. Consistency matters if you want stabilization. I am a fan of high-end recurring income as opposed to a low $200 a month membership, trying to grow that to stabilize your business.
If you can start with high-end and have recurring income that you can count on for the next six to twelve months, people paying you anywhere from a thousand to five thousand dollars a month, it changes the game. You get to chill. You get to relax. There's not so much pressure to make the sales, which makes it easier to make the sales on a monthly basis that will get you to your six-figures month.
Part Two of ‘June 2020 Income Report +Team Building’
Recently, I did an organizational chart. I know that in order for me to build a business at the level that I want to build it at, there's no way I'm going to be the only one that can continue to do sales because I only have so many hours in the day. There's probably going to be more people to possibly talk to, and I won't be able to do them all. We’ve hired the majority but we still have three spots that have not been filled yet. We’re going to go through this process of training, onboarding, and creating S.O.P. One of the things that stopped me from hiring — I wasn't clear how I wanted to be supported or who should be my first hire.
I'm doing this because I want to build a business, not just one that works without me so I can go sit on the beach while the money comes. I want to build a business that's actually sellable in the future. And the only way to do that is with systems and documentation. People aren't buying my name or my business because I'm not Oprah. But if they can look at my system, they can exactly see where all the money is, and that this thing can run without me, they will know exactly what to do. That's what you call the business.
“Building a generational wealth means creating a sellable business that can operate without you.” — Shameca Tankerson (18:33-18:37)
Most people don't understand the fact that you can have millions of dollars coming into your business, but if you don't have these structures and documentation in place for everything that you do, you have no business. No one will buy it. It is not sellable because when you pull yourself out of it, people won't know what to do.
I'm looking at the future because I'm about building generational wealth. I want to leave my children something right. I want to leave the money, but I also want to leave them the know-how. Most people don't get the results that they want because they really don't want it bad enough. The desire to sell more, to have greater impact, to make a difference or make a ripple effect on the earth isn't enough. This game of building a business is about mental toughness.
