Today’s readings from 2 Chronicles 21–22 and John 14 invite us to reflect on God's presence and on how our understanding of Him is formed over time through both difficult circumstances and faithful promises. These passages remind us that while people and kingdoms may fail, God remains present and faithful to His people.

In 2 Chronicles 21–22, we see the tragic consequences of leaders who moved away from God's ways. The instability, confusion, and destruction that followed reveal how deeply our lives are shaped by the voices and influences we choose to follow. Even in the midst of failure, God's covenant purposes continue moving forward.

In John 14, Jesus prepares His disciples for a season of uncertainty by assuring them that they will not be left alone. Through the promise of the Holy Spirit, He reveals that God's presence is not limited by physical distance. The Advocate would remain with them, teaching, guiding, and reminding them of all Jesus had said.

Together, these passages invite us to consider where we look for stability and reassurance. They remind us that God's presence remains constant even when circumstances feel uncertain, encouraging us to rest in the promise that we are never alone.
