A convicted murderer serving a life sentence slashed two prison officers in Strangeways with a razor blade melted into a plastic knife handle in a bid to get a transfer, a jury was told.

Clifton Jeter, 36, who stabbed a dad-of-seven to death in London in 2007, attempted to murder guards Alistair Cadell and Liam Keates as they were leading him back to his cell from a specialist unit last November, Manchester Crown Court heard.
