Advancing Young Women in STEM! The New Mexico Out of School Time Network (NMOST) has taken action to help address the gender gap in STEM disciplines and STEM-related fields. As women remain underrepresented in the STEM professions and there is a need to close the gender gap, NMOST aims to inspire the next generation of female innovators and leaders by providing scholarships for young women pursuing STEM professions. 

We get down to the nitty gritty with one of the 2019 scholarship recipients, Makayla Gates a highly motivated and determined student with a special interest in theoretical particle physics and mathematics.
