Chadwick Boseman born November 29, 1976 sadly passed away August 28, 2020 at the age of 43 from colon cancer. We here at Just Another Friday Night were deeply saddened upon hearing this news and decided to dedicate the Episode 1 of Season 2 of the JAFN podcast to his memory and his legacy. A career tragically cut short but one that could not have been more filled with both critical and commercial success. We loved Mr. Boseman's portrayal of King T'Challa in the Marvel Studios films he was in but we also discuss some his more recent and prominent roles. Overall we are saddened by the wonderful work that we will not get to see but ultimately count ourselves fortunate for the work we did get to enjoy. Goodnight Mighty King may you walk forever in the Djalia with the ancestors. Rest in Power King - Wakanda and CHADWICK FOREVER!!!

We have to steal a little bit from the back of the graphic novel because we simply can't say it better. Part western, part Mad Max this week kiddies we sink our claws into OLD MAN LOGAN. That's right for our season 1 FINALE we wanted to take on a tale of the JAFN's favorite superhero - the rabid WOLVERINE! Or is he? He certainly prefers to be called Logan in this story and the reasons why will chill you to your very core. If you're a fan of the Logan movie this is a far cry from that but the inspiration is certainly there. Each perfect in their own respect - the fans win by the stories being so different. Why? Because out of this we get TWO iconic Old Man Logan stories in comic form and then later the film. We are focusing strictly on Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's 2008 tale here though! And what a tale it is! Grab your fave brew, pop the can and your claws as we go in on OLD MAN LOGAN! SNIKT!

But basically they are reimagining some of the most iconic moments and characters in comic book lore, begging the question what would the world be like had things been different. In this particular story DC asks the question what if instead of Kal-El crash landing in Kansas and being taken in by Jonathan and Martha Kent instead his ship lands in the USSR. In the world of DC comics Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman are considered this world's finest superheroes. In the annals of the genre of science fiction movies, only one trilogy stands head and shoulders above the rest. Episode IV: A New Hope; Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and last but certainly not least Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The original Star Wars trilogy to us here at Just Another Friday Night IS everything!! There was just too much to pack into a regular sized episode so consider this a GIANT SIZED ANNUAL and enjoy!! Way back in episode 2 we let you know who our heroes were. Now 20 episodes later the hour of the villain has come! You love to hate them but you can't help how they bring a smile to your face.
