Just be the man you are

Listen Later

Just be the man you are

She said it’s all in the way that you look at the day

Tell me can you see blue sky under the clouds of gray?

You won’t find it in bars, not in no fast moving cars

You need to lie back and just stare into a sky full of stars

Emphasizing your words for effect, keeping your true feelings in check

It’s really not who you are, it’s no wonder you’ve lost your self-respect

You put the feelings in writing, inside your mind is still fighting

Go with your first instinct, just smile and hold on to that kite string

And just be the man that you are, rise and stand up tall

There’s really no reason to be frightened at all

I’ll hold your hand and stay by your side

Smile and enjoy the amusement ride

And just be the man that you are, rise and stand up tall

You’ve got to trust me; I’ll catch you if you fall

Just be the man you are

Stop wondering about all those nevers, no worryin’ ‘bout who pulls the levers

Move forward you got this, forget all of those worthless endeavors

The things in your head that did haunt, this is no put on, no honey this ain’t no taunt

Celebrate! Time for cheer; gather friends, family, all the cousins, uncles and aunts

The worries you let take the wheel, drove you mad and you tried to conceal

You can’t build while you crumble, can’t just smile and say it’s no big deal

They’re now just dust in the mirror, use your own hands and honey you steer

Don’t you hear in the silence, my feelings soothe you, baby you’ve nothing to fear
