I had this idea to do a deep dive into the New Testament.
I felt like a nudge I needed to take.
I started, then stopped, and started to resist.
I started to question.
I started to doubt.
Then I had a conversation with someone who was raised in a Catholic School.
I have never been to a religious school but I assumed they learned from the Bible.
I thought the source of information for the school would be the Word, the Bible.
Not at this school, they used a religious book.
When I quoted what our purpose as humans was he stopped me and said, "I'm glad you gleaned that from the Bible but it doesn't say that anywhere."
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patients, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things.
Him stating that no such thing was in the Bible made me step back and think.
Our conversation furthered and he referred to Jesus as God's big toe and I knew that was my sign.
If this is what the interpretation of the Bible is I need to get more first hand knowledge.
I can not let people who have never read the Bible teach me what the book says.
This is a journey I have to take.
This is an adventure I look forward to embarking!
Have you ever been curious about the Bible?
Have you already explored the Bible?
Do you think there is something more out there?
I am new to the Bible and am excited to come into this adventure with an open mind and an open heart.
I have been using the Bible app for about a year now to discover the Bible.
It has been incredibly helpful!
Now I am ready for a deeper dive, I'm ready to discover.
Growing up when I was taught about religious stories they were told as fairy tales rather than beliefs, I didn't buy it.
When I read the Bible now, I feel like I have missed out on so much information that could have been helpful.
I didn't want fairy tales and monsters growing up. I wanted love and help and to know that I wasn't alone in this big world.
When read correctly I believe that is what the Bible offers.
I am plunging into the New Testament and I hope you join me!
Today we dive into Matthew a little bit more.
We talk about the Magi or the Wiseman.
Joseph is visited by an angel and told about Mary carrying the son of Christ.
John the Baptist baptizes Jesus and begins the beginning of new things.
Learn more about who John the Baptist was and the run that baby Jesus and his family had to endure.
Holy Bible. New Testament. Matthew 3 and 4.
Just be your authentic self. It is such a short simple sentence but the things that tend to simple are rarely easy. What is authenticity? It is uncovering more of who we really are and rediscovering what really lights us up and brings us joy. Join me as I discuss in depth more of how to be authentic.

Join me in this week's conversation as I talk about this week's question: Are you okay?
Have you ever felt broken, lost, barely holding on? Well, you are not alone. I want to start a conservative that needs to be had but is hard to have; mental illness. Not mental illness on the medical side because I am not a doctor but on the emotional side, how it makes us feel. Because I think when we know how we feel and acknowledge it and learn to cope with it we will see a change in how our brain views things. If you would like to join this conversation with questions, comments, or your story and what happened to you I wholeheartedly welcome you to do so! Let’s come together and realize we are not alone. #depression #mentalillness #anxiety #thisconversation #join #youarenotalone
