1.5 billion tons of food is wasted annually, and statistics say that between 80-120 billion pounds of that waste is from the US. As an urban gardener and lover of the earth, I need to do my part to minimize food waste going to landfill. Before moving to my new garden, I was an avid composter, but recently I haven't been as consistent as I should have been. There are many different ways you can reduce your food waste. But if you're not going to, the least you can do is compost it.

Cover crops may be an ultimate cheat code for gardening. Throw some seeds in the soil and forget about the crop until it is time to cut it down. Then when you cut it, you don't even have to move it?
