Tis the season to get all that family drama out in the open, but not until the standard gallon of drink has been necked and the turkey has been carved.

Duncan and l delve in to past festive periods that are punctuated with arguements, drinking, fighting and being sick.It appears that we are very similar in our experiences of Xmas in the 70s and 80s.Thank Christ all that has changed in our families nowadays and we have the calmness and serenity that Xmas should bring.

So to all of you that are sick and tired of the family and are taking a break in the toilet scrolling through your phone have a listen and we will see you all in 2021.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Episode #31

As Netflix have just released a documentary worldwide all about the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper l dive in deep with Duncan about how it was for me(a 4 to 9 year old)and the people of Bradford as this fella terrorised everyone back in the 70s for 5 years.

The 13 murders 3 of them a stones throw from where we lived. The botched man hunt, the hoax that cost another 3 women their lives and the aftermath for women in the North.

Even if you are unaware of this dark time in the UKs history l recommend you all get out there to Netflix and have a watch.

Being a full on Yorkshireman missing out on, losing or having money stolen from us is the worst thing in the World.lm beside myself with grief this episode. There are a few meltdowns and Duncan is ever present to nudge that wasps nest as his is want.

Its been a while so Maradona get a mention along with other geniuses on the pitch.

John Cleese is talked about as he mentions Bradford in a interview with Conan and Peoria which is the unofficial twin town.

Episode 26.

Having been on holiday for a week we arrive back with our tails between our legs as we missed a very important anniversary. That`s right its been 25 years since Oasis` 2nd album was released.l explain to Duncan just what an effect this band and this, these first 2 albums had on me a s a 24 year old.Spoiler Alert-he doesn't get it.

From the UK been in the doldrums of a recession and a Tory Govt that had been in so long this band helped open the windows that had been rusted shut for so long and they let the light shine in and added lots of colour.

So sit back and listen to how important those years 1994 to 1997 were.

Episode 25.

Them Dutch never pass up an opportunity to make a quick buck even if it is morally corrupt, but the good stories are always the ones that are hovering around the grey areas.

I explain "Tight vs Yorkshire Tight" and why home brew always won out in our family.Who is going to argue if its 2p a pint?

This being our 25th episode we were sent some flashy RODE pod mics and as you'll hear Duncan has a smoother more buttery voice on him, whereas l still sound like a cow farting in the fog.l guess its going to take more than a mic to change that.

So enjoy the listen, subscribe on whichever platform you download from and please pass it on to your closest 1000 friends.
