Publisher's Summary:
Saving myself for marriage, not hardly. Saving myself for someone who will make my heart race, most definitely. In theory it's a good plan, however even the best-laid plans fall through. Seeing him, being around him, alerts all my senses and I dream about being his, wrapping myself in his arms and never letting go. The only problem - he sees me as his sister. My name's Ava Evans, and I'm in love with my older brother's best friend, Nate Garrison.
Burying myself in work for the past two years, avoiding any thought of her, has worked, until now. She's everywhere, in my dreams, in my gym, and in my heart. I'm not sure when I fell in love with Ava Evans, but I am completely in love with my best friend's baby sister. At first she was too young for me, and that made it easy to stay away. Now, it's a struggle to keep my distance. How am I supposed to resist her when I can't escape her? If he ever found out, it would ruin our friendship. Even with that knowledge, all she would have to do is just say when.

Entertaining
This audiobook is the story of the heroine falling for her brothers best friend and him loving her for years before they admit it to each other. Some of the book felt awfully young to me and I don't know if a brother would really get that mad about his friend falling for his sister. Overall, it was enjoyable.
SWEET STORY BUT OVERUSED PLOT!!!
Just Say When was a sweet easy listen, low on angst, and drama; however, there wasn't anything original about the plot. I kept listening and waiting for some type of plot twist that would make this story stand out from all the others with a similar plot, but it never came. It's really just another story about a girl crushing on her older brother's best friend, a guy crushing on his best friend's little sister, both afraid her brother will not accept their relationship, but they give into their feelings.
The best part of Just Say When was the narration!! I really enjoyed Nelson Hobb's and Jillian Macie's performance. They brought the characters to life and kept me engaged.
This story didn't "wow" me nor did I dislike it; it's just there wasn't really anything remarkable about the plot, characters, drama or dialogue. Overall, this is a feel good romance that won't leave the listener emotionally drained. The chemistry, attraction, and sexual tension between the H/h was more sweet than steamy. While this story was just OK to me, I am interested enough to give Kaylee Ryan's other audiobooks a shot.
Even Nelson Hobbs Couldn't Save This One
I couldn't even finish this book -- I gave up after about 2 hours of listening. The story line was weak at best, there was no chemistry between Ava May and Nate and the writing was just too simplistic. Besides the story being really boring, the female narrartor Jillian Macie has a really squeaky, nasally annoying voice. Nelson Hobbs is one of my favorite male narrators and the only reason I listened for as long as I did but even he couldn't spit shine this turd.
You would have to pay me to finish listening to this.
Just Couldn't Get Into It
Any additional comments?
I'm not sure why I couldn't get into it. I think it is because of the female narrator. She sounds kind of whiny to me. Nelson Hobbs was great though.
