Just Send It

In Episode 49 of JUST SEND IT, I’m finally hitting the slopes after 10 years of planning—and let me tell you, it didn’t go exactly as I imagined.

🌟 What You’ll Hear:

My 10-year journey to this trip and how Why Did I Get Married inspired it.
What it was like to try snowboarding solo for the first time.
The setback that cut my trip short: a sprained wrist on Day 1.
Life lessons about resilience, patience, and finding wins in unexpected places.
Why stepping out of your comfort zone is always worth it, even when things don’t go as planned.
📍 Storytime Highlights:

My first moments on the slopes: the gear, the vibe, and the epic falls.
Reflections on why solo trips and new challenges matter.
How even failed plans can teach you something valuable about yourself.
🙌 Key Takeaway:
Sometimes the journey is more important than the outcome. Whether you succeed or fall (literally), getting out there is what really counts.

In Episode 48 of JUST SEND IT, we’re diving into a topic that’s real and relatable: the art of asking for help and why it’s not a weakness but a powerful strength.

🌟 Episode Summary:

• Freestyle and Real Talk: Kicking things off with freestyle music to set the vibe, we transition into meaningful conversations about real-life topics.
• The Core Theme: Exploring why asking for help is a strength, not a weakness, backed by personal stories and relatable scenarios.
• Community and Exposure: Sharing how exposure to new environments and experiences outside your immediate surroundings can broaden your perspective and foster growth.
• Cultural and Personal Barriers: Breaking down societal stigmas—especially among Black men—around asking for help, including pride, fear of judgment, and rejection.
• Practical Benefits: Highlighting how seeking help strengthens relationships, fosters collaboration, and builds a solid community network for mutual support.
• Lessons from Experience: Sharing personal stories from work and life about how teamwork and asking for assistance lead to better results.
• Strength in Vulnerability: Encouraging transparency, honest communication, and setting realistic expectations when asking for help.

📍 Storytime Highlights:
While grabbing coffee, an oldhead asked me why Black folks don’t own Dunkin’ Donuts but others run soul food spots. This led to a deep conversation about exposure and breaking out of the limitations of your zipcode. Being from 21212 (East Baltimore) and now living in 21215 (West Baltimore), I’ve seen how road trips, college, and new ideas expand your worldview.

💬 Why People Hesitate to Ask for Help:

• Fear of judgment or being seen as weak.
• Worry about being a burden.
• Bad experiences with the wrong people throwing help back in their face.
• Cultural stigmas, particularly for Black men, about “getting it out the mud.”

🎙 What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

• Reframing Asking for Help: Recognize your limits and see asking for help as a strength that builds character and relationships.
• Personal Stories: From trying to handle everything solo to discovering the empowerment of collaboration.
• Practical Benefits: Build stronger support systems, learn from others, and avoid burnout by leaning on your “village.”
• Overcoming Fear: Tips to approach others for help while building trust and realistic expectations.

🙌 Key Takeaway:
Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a way to grow, connect, and unlock new opportunities. Ditch the pride, know your limits, and embrace the strength in vulnerability.
