“His father and mother did not know that it was from the Lord, for he was seeking an opportunity against the Philistines.” Bryan Fischer with the Life and Liberty Minute. That verse is from the story of Samson, the man God had chosen to liberate his people from bondage. Samson was a strong-willed child, with a father too weak to correct him. He married a raw pagan out of lust rather than love. He broke every vow he had made to the Lord, and in a fit of rage beat a thousand men to death at one time with the jawbone of a donkey. Now God likely did not approve of a single thing Samson did, yet he used all of Samson’s glaring weaknesses in the end to enable Samson at last to fulfill the purpose God had for his life. God is still sovereign in human affairs - it is his will which will be done in the end. He uses even our worst to accomplish his best. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
