Maka Black Elk (Oglala Lakota) is the Executive Director for Truth and Healing at Red Cloud Indian School, formerly known as Holy Rosary Mission, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Maka has dedicated much of his work to leading and fostering educational empowerment for his community through his unique lens of being both Lakota and Catholic. He gave a keynote address at the 2022 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Keya Chatterjee is executive director of the U.S. Climate Action Network (USCAN), and author of the book The Zero Footprint Baby: How to Save the Planet While Raising a Healthy Baby. Her work focuses on building an inclusive movement in support of climate action. She gave a keynote address at the 2021 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Fr. Gregory J. Boyle, S.J., is the founder and executive director of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, Calif., the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. He spoke at the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice on November 12, 2016.

Fr. Bryan N. Massingale is a professor of Theological and Social Ethics at Fordham University. Fr. Massingale strives to be a scholar-activist through serving faith-based groups advancing justice in society. He is a noted authority on issues of social and racial justice, and gave a keynote address at the 2021 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Sr. Peggy O’Neill, S.C. is the director of Centro Arte para la Paz (Center of Arts for Peace) in Suchitoto, El Salvador, a regional educational & cultural center promoting peace through dance, art, and theological reflection. Sr. Peggy founded this healing space in 2006 and gave a keynote address at the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in 2019.

Reyna Montoya is the founder and executive director of Aliento, an organization inspired by her lived experience of having her dad detained and being undocumented in the U.S. She shares her talents and skills with the community to co-create healing spaces, political change, and leadership development of our children and immigrant youth. She gave a keynote address at the 2019 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Marcia Chatelain is a scholar of race and ethnicity in America and a national speaker on race, gender, and ethnicity. In 2016, the Chronicle of Higher Education named her a Top Influencer in academia in recognition of her social media campaign #FergusonSyllabus, which implored educators to facilitate discussions about the crisis in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. She gave a keynote address at the 2019 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Nichole Flores, Ph.D., is an associate professor of religious studies at the University of Virginia. Dr. Flores researches the constructive contributions of Catholic and Latinx theologies to notions of justice and aesthetics to the life of democracy. She gave a keynote address at the 2019 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Bishop George Murray, S.J., entered the Jesuits in 1972 and served as an educator in various Jesuit institutions until Pope John Paul II named him a bishop in 1995. He served in various leadership roles in United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, including as chairman of the committee against racism. He delivered a keynote address at the 2018 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.
