  • Our Only Boast
In a world that constantly encourages us to boast in ourselves—our accomplishments, our morality, our reputation, or our success—Paul says there is only one thing worth boasting in: "But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ..." (Galatians 6:14). Why would anyone boast in a degrading and humiliating instrument of execution? Because the gospel of free justification through faith alone produces something the world cannot explain: a radical, self-denying life that finds its confidence, identity, and hope in Christ alone. If you've ever wondered what the cross has to do with your everyday life, or why the gospel is far more than simply the way we begin the Christian life, take a few moments to listen.

  • By a New and Living Way
The sermon explores the theological significance of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death as the ultimate atonement for sin, drawing parallels between Old Testament Passover rituals and New Testament redemption. It emphasizes that salvation is achieved solely through the precious blood of the spotless Lamb, not by human works or merit. The preacher highlights how this blood provides continuous cleansing from unrighteousness and grants believers bold access to God's presence. Key passages such as Exodus 12, 1 Peter 1, and Hebrews 10 illustrate the permanence and power of this divine provision. The message concludes with an urgent call to trust in Christ's finished work for eternal salvation.

  • 2026-07-26 Every Shot Has a Story
Every Shot Has a Story Faith Debate: Sunday, July 26th, 2026 (08/02/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) American kids receive more than 72 vaccine doses, including 37 doses by 18 months old. No other nation in the world follows a schedule this large or fast. Most parents haven't been told why the shots were added, what problems they were created to solve, or how they continue to influence health today. A book by Valerie Ferrell & Leah Wilson breaks open the history behind the entire childhood vaccine program. "The Vaccine Decision: Every Shot Has a Story" provides details (vaccine-by-vaccine & illness-by-illness) explaining when each shot was invented, what justification brought it onto the schedule, & why it remains there. The result is a clear, deeply researched narrative that helps parents understand not just the "what," but the "why." This edition of The Faith Debate features a part of Mrs. Ferrell's 90-minute presentation at Elk Neck Baptist Church in Cecil County, MD on March 24, 2026 – during which she outlines items that help folks navigate the medical morass as a biblically committed Christian. You can see the full uninterrupted video on the church's YouTube channel. This is part 3 of a 5-part series on The Faith Debate radio show & podcast. • The Law Brings Accountability
The Gospel of God - Message 22 - The Law Brings Accountability - Romans 3:19-20. These verses bring us to the end of the first great section of the Epistle of Romans (1:18-3:20), where Paul has made the case that we all are in need of the gospel and an alien (outside) righteousness if we are to be reconciled to God. None of us can be justified by our own good works or law keeping.

  • Peter's Missionary Journey
In this evening sermon Pastor Rockhill traces Peter's missionary travels through the Gentile regions of Lydda, Sharon, and Joppa, showing how the risen Christ continued to build His church through the ministry of His apostle. The central burden is that Peter possessed no power in himself; every mighty work was done in the name and by the authority of the living Jesus Christ, confirming the word of the gospel so that many turned to the Lord. Expounding the healing of the paralyzed Aeneas and the raising of Tabitha, called Dorcas, Pastor Rockhill draws out the faith of Peter and of those he served. He lingers on the meaning of "saints" as ordinary believers made holy by justification through faith, not a special class of super-Christians, and he honors Dorcas as a faithful woman who abounded continually in good works and charitable deeds toward the poor and the widows. Doctrinally the sermon dwells on the sovereignty of God over life and death, the confirming purpose of apostolic miracles, and the fulfillment of Christ's promise in John 14 that His disciples would do His works to the Father's glory. Pastor Rockhill notes how Peter's lodging with Simon the tanner foreshadows the passing away of the old ceremonial order and the gathering of Jew and Gentile into one body in Christ. By way of application, he calls the congregation to live faithfully for the Lord even in small, hidden acts of service, to rest not in signs and wonders but in the Spirit and the truth of God's written Word, and to bear witness so that Christ may draw many to Himself.

  • Proof of Life - James 2.2
The sermon examines James chapter two to distinguish between a mere profession of faith and genuine, living faith that produces tangible works. It argues that intellectual knowledge or religious rituals are insufficient without the corresponding actions of love and obedience, which serve as proof of spiritual life. Using examples from Abraham and Rahab, the text clarifies that while salvation is by faith alone, true saving faith inevitably results in good works that reveal its authenticity. The preacher challenges listeners to examine their own lives for evidence of this transformative power rather than relying on empty religious labels. Ultimately, the message calls believers to rest in Christ's finished work while allowing their daily conduct to visibly reflect that grace.

  • Promise Over Performance
The sermon contrasts the exhausting burden of self-justification through performance with the liberating freedom found in God's promise. Using baseball statistics as a metaphor for internal scorekeeping, the speaker illustrates how humans strive to earn love and acceptance through their own efforts. The message centers on Galatians 3, explaining that the law was never intended to replace God's promise but to expose sin and lead people to Christ. By trusting in faith alone, believers are united with Jesus and become heirs to the promise, freeing them from the need to prove their worth. The preacher invites the audience to release their grip on performance and rest in the grace and identity provided through Christ.
