For many of us, there may be a time in our lives when we need to confront a loved one about their abuse of alcohol. Here are some steps to consider:
Don’t do this alone – if you’re seeing this, find others who are seeing this as well and rally their supportFind the right time – while you might be ready to share, it’s critical that you find the right time for your friend/family memberBe Clear – don’t muddy the waters, by trying to be sensitive. Use words that describe what you are seeing, regardless of how you think it may make that person feel.Don’t Give In – your friend may try to side-step the matter.
