Myles Wakeham is an expat Australian, who lives half of his time in Scottsdale, Arizona, but the rest of the time roaming the world. Originally raised a classical musician as a child, he discovered computers and technology as a teenager yet never graduated high school. But he discovered the personal computer in 1977, and became one of the original founders of that industry.
At the age of 25, he moved to the USA and was trained as a recording engineer in Hollywood and working with Capitol Records, in addition to his career as a software engineer. He assisted in the founding and building of what eventually became Amgen, the world's largest biotechnology corporation. He briefly returned to his home country in the mid 1990s, and survived a fatal car accident in the outback of Australia, that left him in a coma and awoke to realize he was one of the only survivors from the crash.
He rebuilt himself back from this, returned to the USA, became a multi-millionaire and today is embarking on building a large property development and returning to his roots in musical production to build what will be the largest private recording studio in Latin America, in the center of Mexico outside the town of San Miguel de Allende.
He realizes that his success came from doing the polar opposite of all of his American friends, and now teaches the art of contrarianism and what he calls "Financial Sustainability" as a methodology for breaking free of the social rat-race.s.
