On December 16, 2012 twenty-three-year-old physiotherapist student Jyoti Singh and her friend Awindra Pratap Pandey began their evening watching the recently released Life of Pi. The two-hour internationally revered film that starred mainly Indian actors was to be the final moments of happiness in Jyoti’s life. Little could she foresee the 84 minutes of hell she was about to endure.
