Welcome to K-Zone Baseball Development — and welcome to Episode 1.
In this kickoff episode, hosts Jimi Keating and Hunter Wood introduce who they are, what shaped them as players, and why they built a show centered on real development for serious ballplayers.
⚾ Meet Jimi Keating (Spalding University)
Jimi isn’t just a former college pitcher — he’s one of the most decorated arms in Spalding baseball history. At Spalding University, Jimi earned multiple All-American honors and was recognized as ABCA Central Region Pitcher of the Year and SLIAC First Team All-Conference, building a reputation as a competitor who mixed elite execution with a professional routine.
This episode covers what separated him on the mound: preparation, pitch development, strike-throwing, and the “one-percent better” mentality that turned talent into results.
⚾ Meet Hunter Wood (Western Kentucky)
Hunter brings the perspective of a high-level Division I program at Western Kentucky University, where he contributed as a catcher/designated hitter, including a season where he appeared in 41 games and started 29.
A switch-hitting catcher with real game experience, Hunter also earned recognition early in his college career through summer-ball honors — the kind of path many high school players are trying to navigate right now.
