On World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd, Kadal Osai 90.4 CR interviewed three popular journalists from Tamil Nadu to gather their opinion on the Press Freedom level in India and to discuss the potential of the journalism field. Station Head Ms. Gayathri introduces the episode with an interesting explanation on press freedom levels worldwide. Then RJ Lenin conducts the interviews with the journalists. The interviewed journalists include freelance journalist Mrs. Kavita Muralidharan, Vikatan reporter Mr. Mohan, and The Hindu Metro Plus coordinator Mrs. Akila Kannadasan. Their opinions on the press freedom in India varied from one end to the other as one of them felt they were unaffected by the lack of press freedom while the other claimed that their entire organisation has been constantly attacked in an attempt to silence them from reporting on sensitive political subjects. 

In this episode of Maname Nalam, RJ Zeenath talks about the Aarogya Setu app. Developed by the National Informatics Centre, Aarogya Setu has become one of the most downloaded apps in the Playstore. The primary purpose of the app is to spread awareness and to connect health services with the people. The app uses bluetooth technology to keep track of infected or potential victims of the virus and alerts people nearby to maintain distance from that person. RJ Zeenath discusses the various features and purposes of the app in this show.

Most of them felt that the youngsters were most uncooperative in this period. People also felt that it was worrying to see people step out of their houses without masks and other protective equipment. On the positive side, many people felt that ban on alcohol has been a huge boon in this lockdown and hoped many people would take this opportunity to quit the habit. 

Domestic abuse reports have surged during the Covid-19 lockdown. One of the reasons for this is the mental stress of being stuck at home due to the lockdown. In this episode of Maname Nalam, RJ Zeenath speaks about anger management techniques and causes of anger related issues. Then she interviews some people through audio messages where they talk about what makes them angry and how they deal with it.

Before the Covid-19 outbreak, hospitals and health clinics all over the country were constantly jam packed with sick people. People went to the hospitals even for minor setbacks that could be cured naturally by just being a little more health conscious. However, after the Covid-19 outbreak, the local clinics are practically empty and people only visit the hospitals in case they show any symptoms of the virus. The elders in RJ Zeenath's feel that this is because people have started being more health conscious in quarantine and eat home cooked food rather than junk food. RJ Zeenath then discusses the health benefits and nutritional benefits of different fruits and vegetables. She also talks about the seasons they are available in.

In this episode of Maname Nalam, the host speaks about the role of policemen in the lockdown and the difficulties faced by them. In some social media, the policemen are depicted as harsh people and as people who use rough means to implement the law. However, from her personal experience, she speaks about how the police in the region have been extremely polite in their handling of the lockdown despite a large number of people stepping out of their homes unnecessarily and not maintaining social distance in public. She then interviews a few people in her locality who appreciate the selfless work done by the police force and ask the public to cooperate with them to make their jobs easier.

Pregnant women have been said to be one of the most vulnerable groups to the coronavirus. In this episode of Maname Nalam, the host discusses how pregnant women must take care of their physical and mental stability. She then interviews a few pregnant women who are dealing with Covid-19 who share the difficulties they are facing because of the lockdown to have regular check-ups and the unavailability of transport and doctors. Then, the host concludes by stating some tips on how pregnant can maintain their health during pregnancy. 

In this episode of Maname Nalam, RJ Zeenath stresses on the importance of financial independance for women. In some unfortunate cases, women are left to face the world alone through divorce or by being widowed. Sometimes, it's a happy family, but financial backup from the woman helps ease the economic stress on the family. In this episode, women who had adopted some skills through programs available in the region speak about how their trade has been helping their family during the lockdown. Mohamed Meeramal, the secretary of a local Self Help Group, speaks up about the opportunities available regarding handicrafts in the region. She speaks about how the handicraft business gave a hand during the lockdown by earning the women income to run their families. In the end, the host mentions some of the skills that can be easily learned by the women in the region. If a group of women were interested to join a training program for any skill or trade, they were welcomed to approach the Community Radio to get help.
