It’s Monday and David Waldman leads this morning’s charge with Operation “Kagro Morning”. The underinformed won’t know what hit them. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is another holiday that is celebrated through somber reflection, which I guess most of them are supposed to be, with the possible exception of National Nothing Day tomorrow. Greg Dworkin reminds us that if it wasn’t for Connecticut hospitality Dr. King’s dream might not be as inspired. Casaba-headed reactionary Charlie Kirk was recently dismayed to discover that Martin Luther King Jr. spoke over than 30 words during his lifetime, and wasn’t the Bircher Charlie thought he was. Kirk plans to use today’s holiday to haul the Overton Window to the right, and already the lunatic line is forming to hop out. Nikkki Haley represents the lost-causers just below, waiting to catch them. In many states that window has always had a southern exposure, although few people still are aware that even Alabamans weren’t all whistling Dixie. Perhaps we are all xenophobic authoritarians? Perhaps not. Anyhow, it is gratifying to know that a lot of those who are, are becoming frostbitten today. Haley is competing with Ron DeSantis to capture just the perfect essence of losing to Donald Trump while avoiding the stench of losing to each other. One way or the other, Republicans will be falling in line… and, of course, so will Democrats. The money is already on Joe Biden heading into a possibly balmier Iowa. Trump continues to be in trouble with the law. E. Jean Carroll's attorney asks Judge Kaplan to take "robust prophylactic measures", hopefully a tennis ball and duct tape if Donald decides to “testify”. Michigan Gop operations lead the way for others across the nation. Texas Governor Greg Abbott didn’t send migrants into sub-zero temperatures this week, but rather to the bottom of the Rio Grande.  Bill Ackman lived by the sword, and dies by the Axel Springer.
