God loves to do and can do a lot with our prayers, with a gesture of charity for others, even with our sufferings handed over to his mercy. Jesus also addresses an invitation to us, as received by the boy in the Gospel, with the loaves and fish; an unnamed boy in whom we can all see ourselves. It is interesting that his disciples ask this boy to share everything he had. It seems to be an unreasonable and unjust proposal. In human terms, it is illogical.

As a Cradle Catholic, much of my life was spent immersed in Catholic culture, surrounded by Catholic tradition, and taught the Catholic faith. However, it wasn’t until university and my journey with the Jesus Youth movement that I really began to understand the richness of the Catholic Church. Over the years, I have come to discover and appreciate the inherent beauty of the Church. While there are many reasons to fall in love with the Church, the saints, the sacraments, and the social teachings of the Church played a role in shaping my relationship with the faith.
