KakeBytes episodes

  • Newgrounds.com
In the newest episode of KakeBytes, I sit down with Tom Fulp! He talks with me about the many iterations of Newgrounds that existed until he found himself with a top 500 website as a college student prior to the dot-com crash.
He goes on to talk about the present and future of the website (@Nightmare Cops), as well as his game company The Behemoth most widely recognized for the cult classics Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid.

  • KatyKakes #4 – Rampage
In the newest episode of KakeBytes, I sit down with Brian Colin! Brian is most often recognized because his unique art style captured gamers in 1986 with the release of the arcade game Rampage.
In today’s interview Brian and I discuss his time working in the film industry, for Bally-Midway, that time he was paid to start a game development company (called Game Refuge, Inc.), and then that time he got to be in a film (I’ll give you two guesses which movie. Spoiler: The Rock is in it too).

In today’s episode, I sit down with 35-year development veteran Warren Davis! He’s most well known in gaming for his role as the programmer for the arcade classic Q*bert, but we talk about so much more!
Warren regaled me with tales of answering a newspaper ad to work for Gottleib, surviving the video game crash of the 80’s (and getting a job out of it!), a stint as a Disney Imagineer, as well as his longtime love: acting.
