خود سانع ازل بھی ہے شیدا حسین

ہونے نہ پائی تھی ابھی تخلیق کی سحر
تعمیر ہو چکا تھا سراپا حسین کا

سر دے کے سر پہ لے لیا بارِ تمامِ دیں
یہ حوصلہ یہ دل یہ کلیجہ حسین کا
۴
اے آرزوؔ ازل سے ہوں تقدیر کا دھنی
بندہ ہوں مرتضیٰ کا میں بردہ حسین کا

अल्लाह रे ये शान, ये रुतबा हुसैन का
ख़ुद साने’-ए अज़ल भी है शैदा हुसैन का

होने न पाई थी अभी तख़्लीक़ की सहर
ता’मीर हो चुका था सरापा हुसैन का
३
सर दे के, सर पे ले लिया बार-ए तमाम-ए दीं
ये हौसला, ये दिल, ये कलेजा हुसैन का

अए आर्ज़ू अज़ल से हूँ तक़्दीर का धनी
बंदा हूँ मुर्तज़ा का, मैं बर्दाह हुसैन का

There are at least two collections of Ghazal and nazm. There is precious little by way of biographical information but it seems that he was associated with teaching (perhaps urdu) in some college in kolkata. He was deeply sufistic, accepting and embracing many traditions. He has written lovingly and admiringly about islamic figures.

Even before the dawn of creation, the spirit of husain was created i.e., the spirit of resistance.

sar de1 ke, sar pe le liyaa2 baar3-e tamaam4-e diiN5
ye hauslaa6, ye dil, ye kaleja7 husain ka 1.sar dena – giving up the head, sacrificing 2.sar pe lena, taking on oneself, taking responsibility 3.burden 4.all, total 5.faith 6.courage 7.liver-seat of courage/daring
By giving up/sacrificing his head, he took on himself the burden of (saving) the whole faith; such was the courage and daring of husain.
