On today’s episode,  I’m joined by one of the most genuine and versatile artists in the scene, Kalu James, of Kalu and the Electric Joint. Leaving his home in Nigeria at the age of 18, Kalu has had an incredible journey of pursuing his passion for music and opened for Questlove and Moon Taxi, and performed with David Ramirez, Shakey Graves, Cilantro Boombox and more! 

I was so excited to sit down with Kalu and we talk about how he got kicked out of his school choir for not staying in his assigned range, how his upbringing and family values influenced him growing up, and his own life lessons that have made him into the Artist and person he is today. Even though Kalu and I grew up halfway across the world from each other, we share so many similarities in our core values and beliefs. He discusses his new album and upcoming performances!
