First up, we’ve got not one, but two runaway kangaroos—one in Alabama, one in Colorado—raising the important follow-up question: Why do so many people in the U.S. own kangaroos? Also, when a kangaroo escapes, are you really its “pet parent” anymore, or just an ex with visitation rights?

Then, there’s Georgia jail officials, who managed to misplace a literal murderer. That’s right—one of the few jobs where “keeping track of dangerous criminals” is the primary requirement, and somehow, it didn’t go well.

And finally, the pièce de résistance: a 32-year-old woman arrested for allegedly refusing to pay her tab at a steakhouse and punching a police officer in the testicles. Truly, if you were looking for an incredibly specific way to escalate an evening, congratulations—you’ve found it.
