"A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hosseini. A book that broke and built me in the same breath. It was painfully beautiful, like watching dawn spill through cracks of a shattered glass. The book spoke of women in Afghanistan, of how every cruelty in the world somehow find its way to a woman's skin first. When death knocks, when war occurs, when lives collapse, somehow it's always the women who bleed first, quietly holding all their runes together for me till the end."
